Given the ethical insight that destroying
the future capacity of the planet to support
life is wrong, we at
Sustainable St. Louis (SSL)
are working to create and support a life-enabling local
community.
Thus we strive to develop widespread local awareness of
the imminent necessity of sustainability-based
living and to support people in the transition
from awareness to action.
Our Mission is to promote the sustainable cultural, economic,
environmental, and social health of the greater St. Louis
region for current and future generations.
Sustainable St. Louis will support this mission:
- by sharing a vision of the region’s sustainability;
- by serving as an information clearinghouse;
- by supporting local sustainability projects; and
- by encouraging decision-makers to make sustainability
a goal.
